【FAQ】
Q:Can you tell me more about the differences between the kimonos in each plan?
A:The kimono ‘furisode’ in 1. is the most prestigious formal kimono for women, except brides.
It is characterised by gorgeous designs, long sleeves and a luxuriously tied obi. It is used as women’s attire for celebrations and important occasions.
Kimono ‘SHIROMUKU’ in 2. is the kimono worn by the bride and uses a pure white costume. A white headdress is also worn to cover the head.
In the past, Japanese hair was tied up, but recently Western hair has become popular.
The colour white is believed to ward off evil spirits, and white has long been used in the costumes of those who serve the gods. White is still used in bridal outfits for sacred ceremonies. White in wedding clothes also has the meaning of purity.
Kimono “HIKIFURISODE” in 3.
A long kimono worn with a trailing hem, mainly black with gorgeous patterns, this is the traditional costume with the longest history as a bridal costume compared to the ‘shiromuku’ of 2.
It requires high dressing skills.
Black has the meaning of not being dyed in anyone else’s colour.
In old Japan, black was also considered the most prestigious colour and has an image of elegance and luxury. Compared to plain white, it gives a more mature and stylish impression.
